Layton Construction in Nashville, TN is seeking a Senior Estimator to manage and assist in compiling estimates for diverse projects, ensuring cost accuracy and meeting Owner requirements with professionalism. The role leads preconstruction activities, coordinates with Architects and Owners, and develops bid proposals.

Proficiency in Destini Estimator, BlueBeam, Assemble, Revit, and Primavera is expected. Minimum 5+ years in commercial construction estimating, a relevant Bachelor's degree, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction related field or equivalent education and experience.
• Over five years' experience in estimating commercial construction projects.
• Knowledge of construction systems, including mechanical and electrical.
• Experience with design-build, conceptual estimating, and bid analysis.
• Proficiency with Destini Estimator, BlueBeam, Assemble, Revit, and Primavera.

Responsibilities

• Ensures Constructing with Integrity by working with honesty, unity, safety, and quality of work.
• Prepares estimates and supplementary information for potential projects.
• Reads and improves contract documents, offers value-engineering and life-cycle cost options.
• Performs quantity take-offs, organizes, prices, and analyzes information.
• Understands the broader scope of preconstruction services beyond cost estimating.
• Leads preconstruction with Architects and Owners and demonstrates best practices.
• Solicits bids and quotes from subcontractors and suppliers and maintains contact lists.
• Communicates with subs and suppliers to clarify pricing and assess competitiveness.
• Prepares estimate formats for general conditions, bidding, takeoffs and bid analysis.
• Prepares bid proposals for submittal.
• Attends Owner meetings during estimate development.
• Prepares detailed schedules for proposed projects.
• Initiates special projects related to estimating and guides staff.

Education

Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction related field or equivalent education and experience
