Job summary

Metric DCX is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator / Pre-Construction Manager to join our team and drive successful data center construction projects.

You will lead estimates across conceptual to construction document stages, manage subcontractor pricing, and provide leadership throughout the pre-construction process, ensuring accurate bids and value engineering opportunities.

The role requires strong communication with clients, architects, and project teams, and daily office presence.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience estimating commercial construction projects.
• Experience with hard-bid, design-build, and conceptual estimating.
• Knowledge of construction systems, including mechanical and electrical.
• Experience estimating across all stages of design.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Degree in Engineering, Construction, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage estimates from initial enquiry to tender.
• Prepare accurate estimates with supporting information.
• Create detailed quantity take-offs, pricing, and bid analysis.
• Develop estimates across conceptual to construction document stages.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier enquiries, quotations, and pricing.
• Assess bids for competitive and accurate pricing.
• Provide leadership throughout pre-construction.
• Prepare bid proposals and project schedules.
• Develop schematic plans to demonstrate project approach.
• Lead estimating-related projects and initiatives.
