Job summary

Metric DCX in Tennessee is seeking a Senior Estimator / Pre-Construction Manager to lead estimates for data center construction projects and drive successful bids. You will develop estimates through conceptual to construction document stages, manage subcontractor pricing, and provide leadership in the pre-construction process.

Ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in commercial estimating, strong knowledge of construction systems (mechanical/electrical), and proven ability to deliver

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience estimating commercial construction projects.
• Experience with hard-bid, design-build and conceptual estimating.
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction systems including mechanical and electrical.
• Experience with self-performed concrete construction.
• Strong understanding of construction costs, procurement and bidding strategies.
• Experience estimating across all stages of design.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and deliver accurate work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage estimates for a range of commercial construction projects.
• Prepare accurate estimates from initial enquiry through to tender.
• Complete detailed quantity take-offs, pricing and bid analysis.
• Develop estimates across conceptual, schematic, design development and construction document stages.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier enquiries, quotations and pricing.
• Assess bids and ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
• Identify value engineering and life-cycle cost opportunities.
• Provide leadership throughout the pre-construction process.
• Prepare detailed bid proposals and project schedules.
• Develop schematic plans or sketches to demonstrate project approach.
• Lead and contribute to estimating-related projects and initiatives.
