Job summary

Mariana Minerals is a software-first minerals company seeking a Sr. Estimator to lead cost estimation for mining, processing, and infrastructure projects. You will develop detailed estimates that support decision-making and project success.

You will analyze drawings, use RSMeans, mentor junior estimators, and collaborate with engineering, procurement, and PM teams. The role requires 7+ years of experience and willingness to travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• 7+ years estimating in mining/heavy industrial/construction.
• Strong knowledge of mining operations, materials, and equipment.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specs.
• Excellent analytical and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for mining, processing, and infrastructure projects.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other docs to estimate time, cost, materials, and labor.
• Utilize RSMeans data to develop accurate, benchmarked estimates.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project mgmt to ensure comprehensive estimates.
• Develop and maintain cost databases, benchmarks, and estimating tools.
• Identify project risks and opportunities; provide mitigation strategies.
• Review and validate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Participate in bid reviews, value engineering, and project planning sessions.
• Provide ongoing cost analysis throughout project lifecycle.
• Mentor junior estimators and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Support PCM and Software Engineering teams in automating estimating processes.
