Job summary

McGough in Dallas seeks a Senior Estimator to lead detailed quantity takeoffs and comprehensive cost estimates for self-performed and subcontracted work. You will drive bid strategies and ensure timely submissions while maintaining current product and vendor information.

The role requires a four-year degree and 10+ years of estimating experience, with strong communication, analytical and multi-tasking skills. Occasional travel to project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Construction Engineering or Construction Management.
• 10+ years of construction and estimating experience.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, organization and time management skills.
• Thorough and detail-oriented.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task within time constraints.
• Self-starter and motivated with minimal supervision.
• Strong computer skills.
• Previous experience with On-Screen takeoff.
• Understanding of Microsoft Excel.
• Previous oversight of Estimator I and/or Estimator II work.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of Take-off process from existing conditions to structural elements.
• Bid Card Development and management of bid cards and scopes.
• Estimating Tools: template selection and customization, value analysis, productivity guides.
• Communication with subcontractors and design teams; attend meetings; generate RFIs.
• Pricing: history review, unit pricing, self-perform pricing, and macro level value analysis.
• Estimate Development: manage resources and contract type understanding.
