Job summary

PCL Buildings Inc. in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Senior Estimator to join our team. You will perform detailed cost estimating for large projects, develop bid strategies, and coordinate with operations to craft competitive proposals.

You will establish schedules, perform take-offs, and lead pricing for general and project-specific requirements, while maintaining thorough documentation for project handover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or trade experience.
• Gold Seal certification in estimating.
• 12 years of progressive cost estimating experience with onsite experience preferred.
• Successfully led pursuits valued up to $250 million in various delivery models (hard bid/lump sum, construction management, cost reimbursable, target price, design build).
• Experience with self-perform estimate and productivity understanding.
• Knowledge of bid processes and contract delivery methods: hard bid, GMP, unit price, design-build, construction management.

Responsibilities

• Conducts detailed analysis of contract documents and specifications to determine project requirements.
• Establishes a critical path schedule with milestone dates and timelines to meet contract completion dates.
• Completes full quantity take-off of labor, equipment, and materials for large scopes.
• Leads pricing of general expenses and project-specific general requirements.
• Completes as-bid estimate and trade buy-out strategy with operations team.
• Assists in presenting estimate/proposal and delivers client presentations.
• Performs quantity, material, and labor take-offs from drawings and specifications.
• Documents and archives estimate information for transfer to project team.
• Performs risk and opportunity analysis for risk register and guidance.
• Liaises with external consultants and coordinates tender development for clients.
