Job summary

CORE Builders is seeking an Estimator or Senior Estimator to join our Preconstruction team in the SF Bay Area. The role focuses on competitive hard-bid pursuits in the K-12 public education market and requires strong knowledge of bid processes, scope analysis, and subcontractor outreach.

The successful candidate will develop detailed estimates from plans through bid submission, support subcontractor buyout, and help expand CORE Builders’ presence in education sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field.
• 1–4 years estimating for an Estimator role; 5+ years for a Senior Estimator.
• Experience with quantity takeoffs, subcontractor bidding, and bid leveling.
• K-12/public education construction and/or public works preferred.
• Understanding of public bidding, procurement requirements, and bid processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support competitive hard-bid proposals for K-12 public education projects.
• Develop detailed quantity takeoffs and complete estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor work, general conditions, and other costs.
• Prepare bid packages and solicit competitive pricing from qualified subcontractors and suppliers.
• Coordinate final bid compilation and submission in accordance with owner requirements and bid deadlines.
