Job summary

Kingfisher Recruiting seeks a Senior Estimator (Mechanical/Civil/Structural) for industrial EPC and data center construction in the Houston area. The role focuses on developing accurate cost estimates, with emphasis on piping and mechanical systems, across large-scale projects.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in industrial estimating, strong experience with civil/structural methods and Trimble Accubid, and be able to work onsite with minimal travel. This is a full-time on-site position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field or 10 years of experience.
• 10+ years estimating experience in industrial construction.
• Strong knowledge of civil and structural construction methods and cost drivers.
• Proficiency with Trimble Accubid and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil, structural, and mechanical scopes, focusing on piping and mechanical systems.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, and equipment pricing using Trimble Accubid and Excel.
• Review drawings and specifications to ensure accurate estimates.
• Collaborate with project management, engineering, and construction teams to validate assumptions and execution strategies.
• Develop pricing for lump sum, unit rate, and time-and-materials proposals.
• Develop construction schedules in Microsoft Project.
• Analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes for alignment with scope and estimating standards.
• Identify project risks, exclusions, and value-engineering opportunities.
• Support bid reviews, estimate reconciliations, and post-bid handoff meetings.
• Maintain estimating databases, historical cost data, and productivity benchmarks.
