Job summary

Zaddy Solutions invites an experienced Sr. Estimator (Mechanical/Civil/Structural) to lead cost estimation efforts for industrial EPC and data center projects in the Houston area. This role requires deep knowledge of piping/mechanical systems, civil and structural methods, and subcontractor evaluations.

You will develop detailed estimates, analyze bids, and support post-bid handoffs while coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams. Onsite work with limited travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field or 10+ years experience in lieu of degree.
• 10+ years of estimating experience in industrial construction with focus on mechanical/piping scopes.
• Strong knowledge of civil and structural construction methods and cost drivers.
• Advanced proficiency with Trimble Accubid and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, isometrics, civil drawings, and structural plans.
• Minimal travel for pre-bid site visits.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil, structural, and mechanical scopes, with primary emphasis on piping and mechanical systems
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, and equipment pricing using Trimble Accubid and Microsoft Excel
• Review drawings, specifications, and scope documents to ensure accurate and complete estimates
• Collaborate with project management, engineering, and construction teams to validate assumptions and execution strategies
• Develop pricing for lump sum, unit rate, and time-and-materials proposals
• Develop construction schedules in Microsoft Project
• Analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes, ensuring alignment with project scope and estimating standards
• Identify project risks, exclusions, and value-engineering opportunities
• Support bid reviews, estimate reconciliations, and post-bid handoff meetings
• Maintain estimating databases, historical cost data, and productivity benchmarks

About this Role

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Estimator (Mechanical/Civil/Structural) to join our team in Houston, TX to support a growing portfolio of large-scale construction projects, primarily within the rapidly expanding data center market. Additional projects span the chemical, petrochemical, oil and gas, and other heavy industrial sectors.

The Senior Estimator will play a key role in developing accurate, competitive cost estimates for EPC and design-build projects. This position requires a deep understanding of industrial construction methods, material takeoffs, labor productivity, and cost controls.
