Job summary

Branch Civil, Inc. is seeking a Senior Estimator for heavy civil and site development projects. You will perform quantity take-offs, pricing, scoping and bidding while visiting sites to understand conditions and contribute to bid strategy.

The role requires 10+ years in estimating for $20M+ projects, HCSS HeavyBid and Agtek proficiency, AutoCAD and MicroStation familiarity, and strong communication skills. Travel ~20% with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years in estimating for pursuits of $20M+.
• Minimum 3 years in a senior estimating role.
• HCSS HeavyBid experience required.
• Proficiency with Agtek earthwork software.
• Strong math skills with geometry knowledge.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• MS Office proficiency.
• Ability to manage multiple bids.
• Geotechnical knowledge.
• Advanced understanding of bidding contract types.
• Proven multi-project management ability.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity take-offs, pricing, scoping and bidding of projects.
• Visit the project site to understand site conditions.
• Develop understanding of project specs and bidding requirements.
• Communicate with client via verbal and written clarifications.
• Build relationships with customers, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Identify constructability and value-engineering opportunities.
• Lead estimating team on select projects.
• Mentor junior team members.
• Assess site risks and mitigation plans.
• Review estimates with PMs and superintendents for accuracy.
• Present estimates and participate in bid reviews.
• Ensure compliance with MBE/DBE requirements.
• Understand safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Develop preliminary project schedules and budgets.
• Document historical data for future bids.
• Represent the company at client meetings.
