Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
• 10 years estimating experience for pursuits of $20M+.
• Minimum 3 years in a senior estimating role.
• HCSS HeavyBid experience required.
• Proficiency with Agtek earthwork software.
• Strong math skills and ability to read drawings.
• Understanding of geotechnical information.
• Ability to communicate technical information both orally and in writing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple bidding projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity take-offs, pricing, scoping and bidding of construction projects.
• Visit the project site to understand site conditions.
• Develop a clear understanding of project specifications and bidding requirements.
• Prepare and manage clarification correspondence with clients.
• Develop relationships with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Identify constructability issues and value-engineering opportunities.
• Lead the estimating team on select projects and mentor junior members.
• Review estimates with PMs, superintendents, and other estimators.
• Ensure compliance with MBE/DBE requirements in bid process.
• Develop preliminary project schedules and budgets.
• Coordinate hand-offs to operations and communicate project scope.
