Job summary

Atkinson Construction seeks an experienced Estimator to support our operations teams in heavy civil projects. The Estimating/Preconstruction Department handles bid preparation, quantity takeoffs, subcontractor quotes, and strategy development for profitable work.

Required are 4+ years in heavy civil estimating, proficiency with HCSS Estimating, Heavy Bid, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD, plus strong communication and organizational skills. Travel to construction sites is possible.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in engineering/estimating in heavy civil
• Experience with HCSS Estimating software
• Ability to lead or support multi-discipline estimates

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specs, proposals to prepare time, cost and labor estimates.
• Lead or perform portions of estimates for multi-discipline projects.
• Solicit subcontractor/vendor quotes and evaluate them.
• Review total estimate for accuracy before quotation.
