Talent Edge Recruiting is seeking an experienced Estimator for heavy civil / earthwork construction to join a family-oriented regional contractor. The role focuses on detailed cost estimation for site development, earthwork, and underground utilities, with mentorship from senior leadership and exposure to high-profile projects.

The position offers competitive base pay ($120,000 - $135,000+), a discretionary bonus program, strong benefits, and a company vehicle for site visits and meetings.

Formación

• 5+ years of construction industry experience.
• Strong background in heavy civil construction, earthwork, excavation, grading, site development, or underground utilities.
• Strong understanding of dirt quantities, excavation calculations, and pipe takeoffs.
• Ability to identify discrepancies and errors within estimates.
• Practical field construction knowledge gained through a contractor, site development, civil construction, or related environment.
• Ability to work effectively under deadlines and adapt to changing project requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil, site development, excavation, and underground utility projects.
• Analyze plans, specifications, and project documents to develop competitive bids.
• Perform earthwork quantity calculations, dirt takeoffs, and pipe takeoffs.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing and compare supplier takeoffs against internal calculations.
• Utilize estimating software and Excel-based estimating tools to build accurate project estimates.
• Review and revise bids as project drawings and specifications evolve.
• Manage multiple bids simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.
• Participate in project site visits and occasional client meetings.
• Collaborate with senior estimators and company leadership on bid strategy and project selection.
• Continuously evaluate methods, pricing strategies, and construction approaches to maximize competitiveness and profitability.
