Job summary

William Charles Construction, a MasTec company, is seeking a Chief Estimator with extensive heavy civil estimating experience. The role is based in our Rockford, Indianapolis, or Springfield offices and requires ownership of bid preparation, cost development, and submittals for public and private sector work.

You will lead estimating teams, coordinate with cost control and ERP systems, and help drive value engineering while maintaining compliance with corporate practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management.
• 10-15 years of heavy civil estimating experience.
• Experience with large DOT/Municipal bids and private work.
• Ability to lead estimating teams and manage bids.

Responsibilities

• Oversee estimating team and assign projects.
• Own full estimate development and bid submission.
• Research subcontractors and suppliers to cover scope.
• Coordinate with cost control and ERP interfaces.
• Lead preconstruction meetings and handoffs to operations.
• Maintain client and vendor communications.
