Job summary

ERock is seeking an experienced Estimator/Commercial Lead to own the estimating function for proposals and opportunities. You will develop comprehensive cost estimates with equipment, materials, labor, and subcontractors, working with Sales, Engineering, and Finance to translate customer requirements into executable scope and pricing.

You will present estimates, justify cost drivers, review contracts for pricing impacts, and help build standardized estimating processes for scalable growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in estimating, project pricing, construction estimating, cost engineering, project management, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience independently developing and reviewing project estimates with equipment, materials, labor, and subcontractors.
• Experience working directly with customers in commercial, project, estimating, or similar environments, translating needs into pricing.
• Experience reviewing contracts or RFP terms for pricing impacts and execution assumptions.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience with estimating, ERP, CRM, or related systems.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the estimating function for proposals and opportunities.
• Develop estimates with equipment, materials, labor, subcontractors, and other cost components with Sales, Engineering, EPC, and Finance.
• Present estimates, cost drivers, scope assumptions, and risks to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Review contracts and RFP terms to identify impacts on scope, cost, schedule, and pricing.
• Establish standardized estimating processes, tools, templates, and controls.
• Lead, mentor, and develop estimators; build a scalable estimating function.
• Analyze estimated vs. actual costs and capture lessons learned for future estimates.
• Develop metrics to measure estimating workload, turnaround time, and accuracy.
