Job summary

Irby Construction, a Quanta Services company, seeks a Senior Estimator to lead the estimation process for complex projects. You will mentor junior estimators, ensure accurate and competitive bids, and oversee detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and subcontractor services.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, negotiating with vendors, developing bid documents, and guiding preconstruction budgeting. Strong leadership and advanced estimating software skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years estimating experience in utility, infrastructure, or civil construction.
• Expertise in estimation software and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines.
• Experience in electrical estimating for data centers or mission-critical projects.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate estimates prepared by junior estimators.
• Develop and maintain estimation standards and procedures.
• Negotiate with vendors and subcontractors for competitive pricing.
• Provide mentorship to Estimator I and II.
• Lead detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Review drawings and specs to determine project scope and requirements.
• Develop bid clarifications and client proposals.
• Lead preconstruction planning and budgeting.
