Job summary

Irby Construction Company is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead the estimation process for complex projects, mentor junior estimators, and ensure accurate and competitive bids. The role requires advanced technical knowledge, analytical ability, and strong leadership to support secure project opportunities.

You will review drawings, specifications, and RFPs, develop detailed electrical cost estimates for data centers and large EPC projects, and collaborate with project teams to maintain cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of estimating experience in utility, infrastructure, or civil construction.
• Expertise in estimation software and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication abilities.
• Experience in electrical estimating for data centers or industrial projects.
• Familiarity with modern estimating software and cost databases.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate estimates prepared by junior estimators.
• Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Develop bid clarifications and proposal documents for clients.
• Identify high-risk cost areas and recommend contingencies or mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and trade partners for accuracy.
