Requirements: BS in EE, Construction Management or related field, 5+ yrs in Electrical Estimating in the Commercial/Industrial Sector, Project Management, Accubid

Position Overview

The Senior Estimator - Electrical will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for electrical projects within the industrial construction sector. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical codes and practices, as well as expertise in using estimation software such as Accubid to ensure competitive and profitable bids.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates for electrical projects, including materials, labor, and overhead costs.
• Analyze project plans and specifications to determine project scope and identify potential risks.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to clarify project requirements and specifications.
• Prepare and submit bid proposals in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
• Review and interpret electrical codes and standards to ensure compliance in estimates and bids.
• Utilize Accubid and other estimating software to create accurate and efficient cost estimates.
• Conduct quantity takeoffs and assess project schedules to improve accuracy in estimations.
• Mentor junior estimators and provide guidance on best practices in cost estimation and electrical design.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical estimating within the industrial construction sector.
• Proficiency in cost estimation software, particularly Accubid.
• Strong understanding of electrical codes, including NEC and NFPA 70E.
• Experience with design-build projects and commercial electrical estimating.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in cost estimation and bid preparation.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with project teams and clients.
