Bristol Bay Construction Holdings Support Services, LLC is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to join our Pre-Construction team. Candidates should be organized, self-motivated, and possess demonstrated skills in the field.
This role involves managing all aspects of developing competitive or negotiated design-build and design-bid-build construction price proposals, from customer RFP receipt to award.
Travel up to 20% required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Go/No Go discussions with senior management.
- Break down RFP scope of work according to capture strategy and project risks.
- Develop risk assessments and present findings to senior management.
- Assist in technical proposal development and review.
- Maintain databases of subcontractor/trade contacts.
- Generate bid scopes and vet subcontractors for compliance.
- Identify and select subcontractors, post project advertisements on B2B sites.
- Evaluate long lead material/supply items.
- Manage RFIs and communicate responses to subcontractors.
- Analyze subcontract bids for scope coverage and coordinate with estimating and operations.
- Engage with teaming partners during solicitation development.
- Assess project risks to address downstream cost exposures.
- Collaborate with preconstruction team members.
- Work with A&E partners on design-build opportunities.
- Ensure smooth transfer of awarded projects to field operations.
- Support field staff with project buyout post-award.
- Communicate proposal development processes to senior management.
Essential Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in design-build and design-bid-build projects.
- Federal agency construction experience, with USACE and NAVFAC preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred.
- Strong skills in interpreting design drawings, specifications, and codes.
- Ability to interpret RFP requirements and develop competitive proposals.
- Willingness to travel for pre-bid site visits.
- Proven ability to develop multiple proposals simultaneously.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office; experience with ProEst or similar estimating software is desirable.
- Ability to develop project schedules from RFP documents.
- Independent decision-making skills.
- Experience estimating multi-trade projects from $2M to $30M.
- US citizenship or eligibility to work in the US.
- Physical ability to climb stairs/ladders and pass background/security checks.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and provide references.
This is a REMOTE opportunity with a salary range of $90,000-$130,000 annually.
Physical Requirements
The role requires maneuvering at work sites, visual and verbal communication, and physical activities such as bending, sitting, standing, and lifting up to 35 pounds. Use of PPE is mandatory.
Working Conditions
The work environment includes office settings and outdoor sites, with exposure to weather, wildlife, and potential airborne hazards. The role involves extensive use of computers and outdoor activities.
