Job summary

VEIT is seeking an Estimator II to review plans and specifications, perform earthwork takeoffs, gather quantities, and build bid proposals for owner or general contractor teams on a timely basis. You’ll solicit subcontractor quotes, manage bid packages, and coordinate with the Project Manager to execute awarded work.

Attention to DBE/MBE requirements is expected, along with strong communication across all levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, or 3–5 years bidding/estimating experience.
• Proficiency with Construction Bidding and Project Management software.
• Excellent communication and ability to work with all levels of management.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specifications to determine the scope of the work required for the project.
• Prepare earthwork takeoffs and quantities, using AGTEK and hand takeoffs.
• Solicit quotes from subcontractors and manage bid packages.
• Construct the bid by adding activities, crews and equipment, and deliver proposals on time.
• Work with the Project Manager to execute awarded work.
