Job summary

Suffolk – America’s Contractor – is seeking a Senior Estimator in the Herndon, VA area to manage the complete estimating process for the most complex and large-scale projects. You will oversee pre-construction, budgets, GMPs, and value engineering while coordinating with design teams, clients, and subcontractors.

You will lead a team of estimators, develop rigorous cost models, perform risk analyses, and prepare bid qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of estimating experience.
• Experience with estimating software such as Timberline, OST, MC2.
• Strong Excel and Word skills.
• Understanding of market conditions on pricing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure estimating process runs smoothly and client expectations are exceeded.
• Build relationships to understand client, designer and subcontractor needs.
• Facilitate collaboration amongst team members.
• Communicate with all stakeholders.
• Lead the Estimating team including Assistant Estimators and SME roles.
• Prepare an in-house budget and GMP and cost comparisons.
