Rice Lake Group is seeking an experienced estimator to join our team. The primary function is to analyze drawings and specifications to produce estimates of time and cost for materials, labor, subcontractors, and equipment for Lump Sum, Unit Price, and Construction Management proposals.
The role requires a Bachelor's degree in construction or engineering or an equivalent combination of training and experience, with 6–8 years of estimating experience in commercial, industrial, or heavy civil

Estimators are responsible for analyzing drawings and specifications in order to produce an estimate of the time and cost of the materials, labor, subcontractors, and equipment required to submit Lump Sum, Unit Price, and Construction Management proposals.
Bachelor's Degree - or - Equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
Math and Complex Calculations, Construction Means & Methods, Critical Thinking as it applied to the breakdown and interpretation of specifications and plans and how this information impacts the overall estimate, Quantitative Take Offs, Data Analysis, Jurisdictional topics like climate, taxes, labor forces, and environmental regulations, Organizational Methods, Writing and Verbal Communication Skills.
Bachelor's degree in construction or engineering related field preferred — or demonstrated knowledge of, or experience with, basic estimating and take-off principles. Minimum 6-8 years' experience preparing estimates for commercial, industrial, or heavy civil construction projects.
Even tempered, detail oriented, highly competitive, concise communicator, and analytical thinker with keen intuition in how to estimate and forecast the cost of building materials, labor, and the construction means and methods necessary to produce an accurate estimate for projects as described in specifications and plan sets prepared by an architect or engineer.
