Job summary

BBI Construction Management is a Gainesville-based commercial construction firm seeking an Estimator to support preconstruction and business development with accurate cost estimating, subcontractor engagement, and early project planning.

The right candidate will own conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, bid proposals, and value engineering for commercial projects, including work inside occupied facilities. This role emphasizes accuracy, discipline, and collaboration with project teams.

Qualifications

• 3–10 years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Experience with renovation and/or ground-up commercial projects.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Experience performing quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.
• Working knowledge of estimating software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Clear communication and negotiation ability.
• Healthcare, higher education, municipal, or institutional project experience preferred.
• Design-Build experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual, schematic, and detailed construction estimates.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
• Develop bid packages and proposal documents.
• Participate in preconstruction planning and budgeting.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost savings.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Maintain estimating databases and historical cost data.
• Support business development and client presentations.
• Coordinate with project teams through project turnover and startup.
