Job summary

UrbanBuilt LLC, a Baltimore-based general contracting company specializing in commercial renovations and new construction, seeks an Estimator to join our growing team. The role focuses on preconstruction budgeting, bid coordination, and project planning, collaborating with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to deliver accurate, competitive estimates.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of estimating experience, strong attention to detail, and proficiency with Procore and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of estimating, preconstruction, or related construction experience
• Commercial construction experience required
• Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, and project documents
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent construction experience will be considered

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed project estimates, budgets, and material takeoffs for commercial, mixed-use, multi-family construction projects
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to ensure complete scope coverage
• Develop subcontractor bid packages and coordinate vendor and subcontractor pricing
• Perform bid leveling, proposal comparisons, and scope alignment reviews
• Identify scope gaps, overlaps, exclusions, and potential pricing risks
• Support value engineering efforts and provide cost analysis recommendations
• Coordinate clarifications and scope alignment with subcontractors and vendors
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed
• Collaborate with Preconstruction, Project Management, and Operations teams throughout the estimating and budgeting process
• Assist with project budgeting, planning, and project handoff documentation
• Maintain organized estimating files, bid documentation, and cost tracking information
• Update estimating databases, pricing information, and project records
• Contribute to improving estimating workflows, processes, and estimating accuracy
