Job summary

A confidential commercial general contractor in Seattle is seeking an Estimator to join its preconstruction team. This established, employee-owned builder maintains a steady pipeline of commercial work.

The right candidate will estimate commercial projects from early budgeting through final bid, read plans and specs, and collaborate with owners, architects, and trade partners. Strong bid coverage and subcontractor relations are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating commercial construction projects.
• Ability to read plans, specs, RFIs and addenda.
• Strong subcontractor relationship and bid coverage skills.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam, BuildingConnected, Procore, Excel, Sage, WinEst, DESTINI or similar platforms.
• Excellent communication, organization and follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and conceptual budgets.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and review plans/specs.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor pricing.
• Support bid packages, scopes and leveling sheets.
• Collaborate with project teams, owners, architects and trade partners.
• Participate in value engineering and constructability discussions.
• Help transition awarded work from preconstruction to operations.
