Job summary

Millie and Severson, a premier employee-owned General Contractor in Las Vegas, seeks an experienced Estimator to analyze plans, quantify work, and prepare competitive bids for commercial projects.

Join a collaborative team that values expertise and loyalty; you will review plans, coordinate RFIs, assemble bid packages, and contribute to budgeting and turnover with project teams across Industrial, Healthcare, Education, and Commercial sectors.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of estimating experience with a commercial general contractor.
• Experience with Tilt-Up or Medical Office Building ground-up projects preferred.
• Demonstrated tenure with previous employers.
• Ability to independently prepare detailed estimate analyses and material takeoffs.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction means, methods, and subcontractor scopes.
• Experience with conceptual estimates, hard bids, negotiated budgets, and GMP proposals.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and project scope; prepare detailed estimates.
• Prepare invitations to subcontractors for bids.
• Evaluate plans and specs for completeness and conflicts.
• Prepare RFIs to project consultants.
• Coordinate bid documents distribution including addenda.
• Prepare project budget and comprehensive proposal with inclusions, exclusions, clarifications, and alternates.
• Assist Project Management with budgeting follow-ups and turnover packages.
• Attend interviews as needed.
