Calmax Technology in Santa Clara, CA is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. The role focuses on RFQ handling, data gathering, and producing reliable cost estimates for manufacturing and engineering projects.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing and Engineering to assess readiness, determine labor and material needs, and evaluate whether to make or buy components. The position requires GD&T interpretation and strong pricing knowledge.

Competenze

A BS in Business or 5–10 years of experience in purchasing, estimating, machine shop.
Must interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
Advanced knowledge of pricing and materials for CNC programming, milling and lathe machining.

Mansioni

Manage RFQ inquiries, review quotes, and gather information to begin estimation (drawings, material pricing, component pricing).
Review blueprints, specifications, and data to determine material and labor requirements.
Collaborate with Manufacturing and Engineering to assess readiness and provide accurate estimates to customers.
Estimate labor, material, processing and other costs based on RFQ data.
Compute cost factors and prepare estimates for planning, bids and vendor selection.
Review material and labor to decide whether to make or buy components.
