Job summary

Armstrong Mfg in Auburn, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Estimator to develop costed quotations for diverse machining projects. The role involves determining manufacturing steps, material and labor requirements, and preparing formal quotes for management and customers.

Qualifications

Minimum 10+ years in machine shop estimating/quoting for medium to high complexity parts.
Experience quoting CNC mill and lathe work in a job shop environment.
Strong ability to read specs, drawings, BOMs, and process docs.

Responsibilities

Determine manufacturing steps/processes, equipment requirements, programming requirements, set up operations, material, labor, and other items necessary to perform work.
Calculate production costs using labor, raw material and processing price estimates.
Prepare formal price and delivery quotations for management and customers.
Communicate with customers on proposals, quotations, and projects.
Assist in the preparation of work instructions for new and revised existing projects.
May have other duties assigned or required.
Must be a self-starter and able to work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision.
