Job summary

Roush seeks a Machining Estimator II to analyze RFQ packages, review CAD models, and develop cost estimates for machining, finishing, and assembly across aerospace, military, entertainment, and automotive sectors. You will work with a cross-functional team to establish cost data and ensure competitive quotes.

The role requires at least 5 years of precision machining cost estimation experience, strong CAD/blueprint reading skills (GD&T), and proficiency with MS Office and Excel-based costing

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of cost estimation for precision machined parts in low-to-medium volume environments.
• Knowledge of materials, machine processes, outside services, inspection requirements, and quality systems.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Excel-based costing software.
• Ability to use CAD software to review models as needed.
• Ability to read blueprints including GD&T knowledge.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; reliable self-starter and multi-tasker.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes RFQ packages to determine feasibility, manufacturing and inspection requirements.
• Collaborates with quote team, purchasing, engineering, and plant management to establish cost data.
• Develops costing for machining, finishing, outside services, inspection, and assembly.
• Verifies accuracy and finalizes quote packages.
• Tracks variances between estimated vs. actual costs to assess accuracy.
• Keeps current with machining market trends and industry processes.
