Job summary

Shawmut Design and Construction is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead complex estimating efforts across Core & Shell, Base Building and Interiors. You will partner with the operations team to shape budgets, prepare GMPs, and present cost strategies for large commercial projects in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.

The role requires 7–10+ years of estimating experience, proficiency with On Screen Take Off and Timberline, and a proven track record on mid-rise and hospitality projects.

Qualifications

• 7 to 10+ years’ estimating experience.
• Expertise Core & Shell, Base Building and Interiors Estimating.
• Experience should include large commercial, hospitality, mid-rise/mix use projects.
• Experienced in estimating all trades including Civil / Structural & MEP.
• Experienced in Conceptual Estimating & Budgeting.
• Self-Starter with the ability to work individually & as part of a team.
• Vast knowledge of all trades: scope, time frames/field execution, typical missed scope/exposures.
• Solid conceptual estimating experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with operations team to plan the job prior to initiation.
• Develop understanding of project strategy and apply in estimating.
• Analyze bid documents for qualitative and quantitative insights.
• Prepare GMPs and Budget Development from Concept to CD.
• Interpret owner/architect requirements and inform estimates.
• Review bid documents and assess project risks.
• Establish pre-construction budget and manage funds.
• Prepare bid packages and distribute to trades.
• Coordinate with Self Perform Division for opportunities.
• Ensure best bids align with project needs.
• Lead final bid process with clear scope and logistics.
