Job summary

Shawmut Design and Construction, a 100% employee-owned company, seeks a Senior Estimator for its Boston team. You will partner with operations to plan projects, develop budgets, and deliver competitive bids across Core & Shell, base building and interiors.

Ideal candidates bring 7–10+ years of estimating experience on large commercial projects, strong leadership, and proficiency with On Screen Take Off and Timberline; you will lead bid packages and coordinate with the Self Perform Division to

Qualifications

• 7 to 10+ years of estimating experience.
• Expertise in Core & Shell, Base Building and Interiors estimating.
• Experience with large commercial, hospitality, mid-rise/mixed-use projects.
• Estimating all trades including Civil/Structural & MEP.
• Conceptual estimating & budgeting experience.
• Self-starter who can work independently or in a team.
• Strong understanding of scope, timelines, and field execution.
• Proficient with estimating software; Timberline/Precision Estimating a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan the job with the operations team prior to project initiation.
• Develop project strategy and apply to the estimating process.
• Review bid documents and assess project risks.
• Prepare GMPs and Budget Development from Concept to CD.
• Coordinate with the Self Perform Division for revenue opportunities.
• Prepare comprehensive bid packages and distribute to trades.
• Present information and proposals effectively to clients.
