Role Description

The Senior Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Phoenix, AZ, responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for commercial interior and exterior specialty construction projects. Day-to-day activities include reviewing plans and specifications, performing quantity take-offs, analyzing subcontractor and supplier quotes, and developing accurate budgets and bid proposals. The role collaborates with project managers, superintendents, and procurement teams to clarify scope, identify cost-saving opportunities, and mitigate risk. The Senior Estimator will participate in bid reviews, support negotiations, track historical cost data, and refine estimating tools and processes to improve accuracy and efficiency. This position also involves regular communication with clients and partners to address questions, explain estimates, and support business development efforts.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in construction cost estimating, quantity take-offs, and bid preparation for commercial projects.
• Proficiency with estimating and take-off software, as well as Microsoft Excel and other office productivity tools.
• Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Experience collaborating with project management, field operations, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present and explain estimates to stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work independently on-site.
• Several years of experience as an estimator in commercial construction; experience with interior and exterior specialty trades is strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
