Role Description

The Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Phoenix, AZ, responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for residential, commercial, institutional, and secure facility projects. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing plans and specifications, performing quantity take-offs, soliciting and analyzing subcontractor and vendor quotes, and developing comprehensive bid proposals. The Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, superintendents, and leadership to refine budgets, support value engineering, and track cost assumptions throughout the preconstruction phase. The role also involves maintaining cost databases, identifying pricing trends, and ensuring estimates align with company standards and client expectations. This position requires consistent on-site engagement with the team, clear communication with stakeholders, and adherence to deadlines for bid submissions.

Qualifications

• Strong construction estimating capabilities, including blueprint reading, quantity take-offs, and cost analysis for residential and commercial projects.
• Proficiency with estimating and project management software (such as Excel, Bluebeam, Procore, or similar tools) and solid general computer skills.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, and trade scopes relevant to luxury residential and technical commercial work.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy in cost breakdowns.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and clients.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines, organize tasks efficiently, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Previous experience as a construction estimator or in a related preconstruction role; experience in high-end or institutional projects is preferred.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field is beneficial, or equivalent practical experience.
