Job summary

Navigate Search is seeking a Senior Estimator for a growing Brooklyn based building supply company. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in specialty construction, particularly Division 8 scopes including doors and hardware. Responsibilities include preparing detailed estimates, reviewing architectural specifications, and coordinating with various stakeholders.

This role offers a base salary ranging from $140,000 to $175,000 plus performance-based bonuses, in a dynamic environment fostering team growth.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of estimating experience focused on Division 8 or related specialty construction scopes.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction documents and specifications.
• Experience estimating hollow metal doors/frames, architectural wood doors, finish hardware, and specialty openings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for Division 8 scopes including doors, frames, access control integration.
• Review architectural drawings and specifications.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop comprehensive bid packages.
• Coordinate with vendors and project managers throughout the estimating process.
• Analyze project risks and value engineering opportunities.

Senior Estimator – Division 8 Projects - Brooklyn Based Building Supply Company

An established, locally owned, and growing building materials and specialty construction supplier is seeking an experienced Division 8 expert to lead estimating efforts for projects throughout the NY metro area. This organization has built a strong reputation supporting largescale commercial construction projects and supplying materials to many high profile developments. The company has evolved from a family owned hardware business into a major supplier serving contractors, developers, and institutional clients for nearly four decades.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for Division 8 scopes including doors, frames, hardware, access control integration, and specialty products
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop comprehensive bid packages
• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, project managers, and clients throughout the estimating process
• Analyze project risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving alternatives
• Maintain pricing databases and supplier relationships
• Participate in bid reviews, scope clarification meetings, and project handoffs
• Support negotiated work, conceptual budgeting, and hard-bid proposals
• Assist in developing estimating standards and best practices across the division

Qualifications

• 10+ years of estimating experience focused on Division 8 or related specialty construction scopes
• Strong understanding of commercial construction documents and specifications
• Experience estimating hollow metal doors/frames, architectural wood doors, finish hardware, and specialty openings
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of NYC commercial construction market is highly preferred
• Base salary ranging from $140,000 to $175,000
