Job summary

A leading recruiting firm is seeking an experienced Division 8 Estimator to prepare accurate estimates for commercial construction projects. Responsibilities include reviewing architectural drawings, performing detailed takeoffs, and coordinating with vendors. The ideal candidate has over 3 years of estimating experience, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in reading architectural documents. Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience in Division 8 (doors, frames, and hardware).
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
• Experience performing detailed takeoffs and bid preparation.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project manuals for Division 8 scopes.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for doors, frames, hardware, and related opening components.
• Develop accurate project estimates using Comsense.
• Prepare detailed bid proposals and scope clarifications.
• Coordinate with manufacturers and vendors for pricing and product selection.
• Identify value engineering opportunities when appropriate.
• Maintain bid schedules and ensure deadlines are met.
• Communicate with contractors, project managers, and internal teams regarding scope and pricing.
• Assist with project handoff to project management after award.
• Track bid results and maintain estimating documentation.
