A leading recruiting firm seeks an experienced estimator focusing on Division 8 (doors, frames, and hardware) in Greensboro, NC. Candidates should have over 3 years of estimating experience preferably in commercial construction, excellent skills in reading construction drawings, and the ability to lead bid proposals. Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience in Division 8 or closely related construction trades.
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience with commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural drawings and specifications to determine scope requirements.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for hollow metal frames and hardware.
• Assemble bid proposals including scope clarifications.
• Develop competitive pricing strategies for bids and negotiated work.
• Assemble bid proposals with scope clarifications and exclusions.
• Track deadlines and ensure timely bid submission.
• Maintain estimating files and documentation.
• Collaborate with PMs, sales, and operations during bid reviews.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Takeoffs

• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine scope requirements for Division 8.

• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for hollow metal frames, wood doors, specialty doors, and hardware.

• Prepare complete bid packages and cost estimates.

• Develop competitive pricing strategies for bids and negotiated work.

Bid Preparation

• Assemble bid proposals including scope clarifications and exclusions.

• Track deadlines and ensure timely submission of bids.

• Maintain estimating files and documentation for future reference.

Collaboration

• Work closely with project managers, sales staff, and operations teams during bid reviews.

• Participate in internal bid strategy meetings.

• Assist with project handoff once work is awarded.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience in Division 8 (doors, frames, hardware) or closely related construction trades.

• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

• Experience with commercial construction projects.

• Proficiency with AVAWARE estimating software.

• Strong attention to detail and organization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience estimating for a door distributor or Division 8 subcontractor.

• Knowledge of hardware schedules and specification sections.

• Familiarity with AHC, DHI, or industry standards.

• Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously.
