Job summary

Genuine Search Group is seeking a Senior Estimator for its Houston preconstruction team. This role focuses on leading estimates from plans through bid submission for K-12 and commercial projects.

You will collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and project managers, mentor junior estimators, and help drive winning proposals in a fast-paced market.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Strong experience with K-12, education, institutional, or similar commercial projects.
• Ground-up construction experience strongly preferred.
• Understanding of construction means, methods, materials, and sequencing.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
• Experience performing detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
• Strong subcontractor and vendor relationships in the Houston market preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with value engineering and constructability reviews.
• Develop strong relationships with subcontractors, owners, architects, and consultants.
• Mentor and develop junior estimators.
• Ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and on schedule.

About the Opportunity

A well-established General Contractor in the Houston market is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join its preconstruction team. This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator with a strong background in K-12 and commercial construction who is looking to take on greater responsibility and play a key role in winning and delivering major projects.

The Senior Estimator will be responsible for leading estimates from the initial review of plans and specifications through final bid submission, while working closely with clients, subcontractors, project managers, and the preconstruction team.
