Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Estimating Manager in the United States for a leading steel fabrication firm. The role focuses on accurate and competitive estimates for commercial projects, overseeing cost control, budgeting, and QA.

You will generate reports on bid progress and budget performance, supervise staff, and contribute to project success. The position requires at least five years in estimating with structural steel, plus proficiency with Tekla, Bluebeam, and On-Screen Takeoff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years experience in structural steel construction estimating.
• Proficiency with Tekla, Bluebeam and On-Screen Takeoff.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction, market trends, materials costs and labor rates.
• Experience in cost control, budgeting, compliance and quality assurance.
• Ability to generate detailed reports and presentations on bid progress and budget performance.
• Experience in change order management and design assistance.
• Minimum of 2 years supervisory or management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Input costs for proposals and perform detailed estimates from drawings.
• Oversee cost control, budgeting, compliance, and QA for all projects.
• Generate detailed reports and presentations on bid progress and budget performance.
• Manage change orders and provide design assistance as needed.
• Monitor market trends, material costs and labor rates to keep pricing current.
• Use Tekla, Bluebeam and On-Screen Takeoff for construction tasks.
• Supervise and mentor the team.
