Job summary

Jobot is partnering with a well-established steel fabrication and erection company in the Mid-Atlantic to hire an Estimating Manager. The role focuses on producing accurate estimates for commercial projects, overseeing cost control, budgeting, compliance, and quality assurance, and guiding bid progress and budget performance.

You will input costs from drawings, manage change orders, monitor market trends, and mentor a project team while using Tekla, Bluebeam, and On-Screen Takeoff to support

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in structural steel construction estimating.
• Proficiency with Tekla, Bluebeam and On-Screen Takeoff.
• Strong knowledge of the commercial construction industry, including market trends and material/labor costs.
• Experience in cost control, budgeting, compliance and quality assurance.
• Ability to generate detailed reports and bid presentations.
• Experience in change order management and design assistance.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience.

Responsibilities

• Accurately input costs for proposals and prepare detailed estimates from drawings.
• Oversee cost control, budgeting, compliance and QA for all projects.
• Generate detailed reports and presentations on bid progress and budget performance.
• Manage change orders and provide design assistance as needed.
• Monitor market trends, material costs and labor rates to keep pricing current.
• Use Tekla, Bluebeam and On-Screen Takeoff for estimating tasks.
• Supervise and mentor a project team.
