Job summary

First Merchants is seeking an ERM RCSA Strategy & Governance Senior Manager to lead, implement, and oversee the RCSA program across the bank's regions. The role focuses on design, execution, and ongoing effectiveness, with hybrid work and in-office presence at regional headquarters in Indiana, Michigan, or Ohio.

You will provide independent risk perspective, challenge Line 1 assessments, and report to executive management and the board.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, management, law or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of banking or financial services experience with at least 5 years in enterprise risk management or related risk disciplines.
• Experience with governance, risk, and compliance platforms and data visualization.
• Experience presenting to Executive Management and Risk committees.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the end-to-end RCSA process from planning to issue escalation.
• Develop, review, and maintain RCSA governance documentation and scoring criteria.
• Analyze residual risk, control effectiveness, and themes for Executive Management and Board.
• Align RCSA outputs with KRI lifecycle and risk appetite.
• Provide independent Line 2 oversight and credible challenge to Line 1 assessments.
• Oversee RCSA tooling configuration, workflow, and data quality.
• Support regulatory examinations and audits with RCSA insights and remediation tracking.
• Collaborate with governance committees and enterprise initiatives impacting RCSA.
