Job summary

UPMC Passavant in Pittsburgh is seeking a Senior Patient Care Technician to support the Emergency Department with advanced patient care under RN direction and ensure safe, compassionate service. This full-time role offers 36 hours per week with rotating shifts; compensation starts at the Senior rate of $19.19 per hour, with progression based on qualifications and experience.

Requires high school diploma, healthcare experience or relevant programs, BLS/CPR, and successful completion of UPMC PCT

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years of healthcare experience or one year plus enrollment in PT/OT/PA program with at least one completed clinical rotation or a health sciences bachelor’s degree.
Successful completion of UPMC Patient Care Technician Senior training.

Responsibilities

Provide advanced patient care under RN direction, including ADLs, procedures, therapies, and monitoring.
Perform core PCT competencies: vital signs, point-of-care testing, telemetry, specimen collection, EKGs, bladder scans, dressings, catheter removal, and restraints per protocol.
Assist with unit and patient needs, transport, meal delivery, and monitoring; communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team.
