Job summary

CHRISTUS Health seeks an Emergency Care Center Technician Senior to assist in the ER with RNs, performing advanced patient care tasks such as venipuncture, wound care, and managing specimens and vital signs under supervision.

Two years of acute care or EMT experience, EMT license, and BLS certification are required. Responsibilities include patient transfers, catheter care, and maintaining a sterile environment while ensuring patient privacy.

Qualifications

• Certification required.
• Two years of patient care experience in acute care hospital or EMT field/Emergency Care Setting required.
• EMT license required.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Gives basic care to patients in a compassionate manner.
• Takes and records vital signs and reports changes to the RN.
• Performs venipuncture, wound care, remove staples/sutures, and measures peak expiratory flow rate as directed.
• Assists with admission, transfers, and discharge under RN guidance.
• Inserts Foley catheter and assists with cast/splints per physician orders.
• Maintains sterile technique and patient privacy; supports patients and families.
