Job summary

Western States Equipment is seeking a skilled technician to support maintenance and repair of heavy equipment. The role focuses on diagnosing engine, powertrain, electrical, hydraulic, and cab systems, with emphasis on safety and adherence to policies.

Candidates should have an Associates in diesel technology or equivalent, plus 3+ years in a Caterpillar or similar environment, and a valid driver’s license. OTA training and field service experience bonus.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in diesel technology or equivalent preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of three years of equivalent experience in Caterpillar or similar environment with hydraulic, engine and powertrain experience.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety policies are followed and maintain a safe work environment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot engine and equipment systems.
• Repair and diagnose machine failures within time requirements.
• Perform inspections and preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled.
