Job summary

QuantumScape in California seeks a Senior Equipment Engineer to drive design, development and commissioning of high-speed automated manufacturing equipment on-site.

You will lead installation, upgrades and maintenance, ensure uptime, and collaborate with international suppliers while applying TPM practices. The role offers a strong compensation package including bonus and RSU/Equity and a comprehensive benefits plan.

Qualifications

• MS or BS in Engineering or equivalent proven experience as a Sr Equipment Technician.
• Knowledge of AC/DC circuits and basic electronic components.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical systems.
• Experience with TPM practices and TPM metrics.
• Experience working with international suppliers and non-native English speakers.

Responsibilities

• Drive design, development and commissioning ramp of complex high-speed automated manufacturing equipment.
• Test and validate new designs and equipment.
• Lead installation, modification, upgrade and maintenance planning of manufacturing equipment.
• Maintain records on equipment manufacturers’ notices, upgrades and safety issues.
• Establish parts inventory and research second source options.
• Develop programs to increase uptime and address equipment problems affecting production.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing equipment repair and process engineering teams.
• Coordinate with vendors to ensure tool support during line down situations.
• Provide troubleshooting for complex issues and address root causes.
• Support TPM practices including metrics, WS health reports, CIP items, MTAGs and restoration guides.
