Job summary

Forge Nano, Inc. in Thornton, Colorado, seeks a Senior Equipment Engineer to lead reliability and maintenance for the Battery Prototype Line.

You will supervise the equipment engineering team and collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, EHS, Facilities, and Supply Chain to ensure safe, reliable operation. You will drive uptime, improve OEE, and implement preventive and predictive maintenance while supporting cell build activities and equipment installations, calibrations, and validations in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years maintaining, troubleshooting, or managing automated manufacturing equipment.
• Hands‑on experience troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, industrial controls.
• Experience with equipment installation, commissioning, startup, calibration, and preventive maintenance.
• Experience with SCADA, data historians, and reading electrical schematics.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the equipment reliability strategy for the Battery Prototype Line.
• Track and improve key reliability metrics including MTBF, MTTR, Equipment Availability, Downtime Pareto Analysis, and OEE.
• Lead equipment downtime investigations and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Develop equipment criticality assessments and maintenance strategies.
• Identify chronic equipment losses and drive reliability improvement initiatives.
• Develop, implement, track, and document preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Ensure equipment is maintained to achieve production, quality, and safety objectives.
• Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans for Battery Prototype Line equipment.
• Support equipment installation, commissioning, startup, qualification, calibration, and validation activities.
• Provide technical expertise for automated manufacturing systems and electromechanical equipment.
• Coordinate equipment changeovers and ensure planning, execution, and documentation.
• Develop technical solutions and cost estimates to improve performance, reliability, and safety.
• Develop, maintain, and improve SOPs, Preventive Maintenance Plans, Calibration Programs, and Documentation Packages.
