Job summary

The Hartford is seeking an EPL Claims Consultant for its EPL Claims Group. You will manage a caseload of claims-made EPL cases from inception to final disposition, including coordination with defense counsel and senior claim leadership.

Responsibilities cover investigations, coverage analysis, reserving, negotiations, and litigation oversight, with opportunities to present to management and train Underwriters. Hybrid or remote work options are available near office locations.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree strongly preferred; college degree required.
• Minimum 7 years handling litigated coverage and liability cases and/or claims.
• Knowledge and experience handling EPL claims across all aspects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations, analyze information, and evaluate claims.
• Analyze coverage, liability, and damages based on facts.
• Communicate positions to insureds and required parties.
• Set reserves and monitor for adjustments; present cases to management.
• Develop resolution strategies through negotiations with defense counsel.
• Manage litigation, budgeting, and bill review; attend trials as needed.
• Provide training and marketing support to Underwriters; engage at events.
