Job summary

ZipStaff is seeking a Senior Epic Orders Analyst to join the Core Clinical Orders Sub Domain team for a major healthcare technology and services organization. This is a fully remote contract role (W2 through ZipStaff) with 40-hour weeks and on-call rotation.

You’ll act as SME for Epic configurations, integrations, and workflows, collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into robust system changes. Prior Epic Orders and ICON experience is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of healthcare business systems analysis experience.
• Current Epic certification/proficiency in Orders / Order Transmittal / Order Sets and/or ICON.
• 3+ years of hands-on Epic in a technical build role.
• Strong communication and ability to present prototypes to business users.
• Ability to work fully remote with on-call rotations.
• Experience supporting senior Epic teams in clinical orders.

Job Title: Senior Epic Orders Analyst (Orders / Bugsy)

Location: Remote (Eden Prairie, MN area preferred)

Employment Type: Contract (W2 through ZipStaff — No C2C or 1099)

About the Opportunity

ZipStaff is seeking a Senior Epic Orders Analyst to join the Core Clinical Orders Sub Domain team for a major healthcare technology and services organization.

This is a fully remote role supporting clinical systems modernization. You will act as a subject matter expert for technical configuration, integrations, and Epic systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into robust system changes. The schedule is standard 40 hours (8a–5p) with rotating prime and non-prime call.

What You’ll Do:

• Implement, modify, test, and administer complex business systems and applications, specializing in Epic environments.
• Conduct thorough analysis of business and user needs to deliver appropriate technical systems solutions from concept to completion.
• Design screens, workflows, reports, interfaces, and prepare functional and technical specifications for system changes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system and application issues, handling both user-reported and vendor-reported incidents.
• Help manage service incidents and requests, serving as a key subject matter expert for technical configurations and integrations.
• Lead meetings and direct team problem-solving sessions, collaborating across team boundaries and other capability sub-domains.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for external vendors and resolve vendor-related technical challenges.

Required Qualifications:

• Current Epic certification/proficiency in Orders / Order Transmittal / Order Sets and/or ICON, with 3+ years of experience.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience in business systems analysis or a related technical role within the healthcare industry.
• 3+ years of hands‑on technical experience working with Epic in a technical build role.
• Strong communication and analytical skills with a proven track record of presenting systems prototypes and functional models to business users.
• Ability to work fully remote, including participation in rotating prime and non-prime on-call support.
• Experience supporting a senior‑level role within a clinical orders or related Epic team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Bugsy or related clinical modules in addition to Orders.
• Background supporting clinical systems modernization or large‑scale Epic environments.
• Prior work collaborating across sub‑domains and serving as a vendor technical point of contact.
• Experience leading meetings and driving cross‑team problem‑solving in a healthcare setting.
