Job summary

AMERICAN ELECTRIC POWER is hiring a Project Manager to lead EPC and CCGT projects in Tulsa, OK. You will manage project plans, budgets, and teams, while ensuring safety via the AEP process.

Responsibilities include coordinating activities, communicating status, and guiding procurement, contracts, and project controls. PMP preferred, a driving license is required, and travel may be up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, Computer Science, or related field with 3 years qualified experience; OR, Associate’s degree with 5 years; OR High School Diploma/GED with 7 years qualified experience.
• 3 years of qualified experience as a PROJECT MANAGER ASSOCIATE (Grade 6) is preferred, or demonstrated competencies and results in a shorter timeline.
• Experience in outages, cost estimation, project controls, and startup procedures would be beneficial.
• PMP certification is preferred but not required.
• Valid state driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct or assist in planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating assigned project activities.
• Support and hold employees and contractors accountable for the AEP System Safety Process.
• Develop and coordinate the project plan, schedule, budget, tools, and staff.
• Lead planning meetings and project/outage updates with supportive role in stakeholder presentations.
• Develop working relationships with project team, internal/external customers, vendors and suppliers.
• Provide guidance to improve design, systems, procedures, schedules, and costs.
• Ensure efficient and timely performance of project work activities.
• Coach and develop team members on project management skills.
• Develop and manage procurement plans and contracts for outside services.
• Assist with closeout processes and project benefits realization.
