Job summary

RTX in Goleta, CA is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for airborne and space EO/IR surveillance sensor systems. You will plan, manage cross-functional engineering activities and budgets, guiding product verification and validation efforts.

This onsite role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance. The candidate will lead requirements management, trade studies, data analysis, and formal reviews, coordinating with IPTLs and PCE to ensure cost, schedule and performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 5+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years’ EO/IR experience.
• Hands-on design, analysis, development, debugging, and testing of EO/IR systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure products meet cost, schedule, technical quality, and performance requirements.
• Provide systems engineering leadership for EO/IR programs including requirements management and verification planning.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Systems, Test, Software, Firmware, Mechanical, Electrical, and IC engineering.
