Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal EO Signal Image Processing Engineer in Chandler, AZ to lead design, development, and verification of high-fidelity EO/IR models and simulations for seeker programs.

You will mentor engineers, drive M&S activities, and collaborate across disciplines in a fast-paced IPT environment. The role requires strong C/C++ and MATLAB/Python experience, background in optical engineering or related field, and active DoD clearance.

Qualifications

Must have experience with video/image processing and EO/IR systems.
Experience coordinating and leading teams delivering models and algorithms for EO/IR or seeker-related systems.
Experience in HPC environments and hardware-software integration is preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead development of high-fidelity seeker simulations and physics-based models (including closed loop 6DOF) for design, performance assessment, and flight test support.
Coordinate and oversee the efforts of team members to ensure timely completion of models and algorithm development in alignment with the program schedule.
Design and implement image/signal processing algorithms and integrate them into the simulation framework.
Apply EO/IR phenomenology and physics concepts to create realistic models of seeker hardware and scenes.
Develop and maintain modeling tools in C/C++, Python, and MATLAB for HPC environments.
Support HWIL, lab, and real-time test activities and perform root-cause analysis and model updates.
